Leaf Porcelain

Leaf porcelain is a thin porcelain veneer used for aesthetic purposes in dentistry. These veneers are bonded to the front surface of the front teeth, improving the color, shape, size and alignment of the teeth and providing an aesthetic smile.

Leaf porcelain veneers are usually designed and produced by the dentist specifically for the patient’s teeth. The porcelain material, which is in the form of a thin layer, provides an appearance and surface feel similar to the natural tooth structure. Leaf porcelain covers the front surfaces of the teeth and helps correct discoloration, cracking, staining, inequalities or other aesthetic problems.

What are Leaf Porcelain Processes?

Leaf porcelain application usually includes the following steps:

Evaluation and Planning: The dentist evaluates the patient’s wishes and expectations, examines the condition of the teeth and plans the procedure to be performed. At this stage, factors such as the color, shape, size and alignment of the teeth are taken into consideration.

Preparation: Before the leaf porcelain application, a thin layer (approximately 0.3-0.5 mm) is removed from the front surface of the teeth. This is necessary for the correct placement of the porcelain leaf and for it to match the natural tooth structure. Local anesthesia may be applied at this stage.

Taking Impressions: The dentist takes the measurements of the prepared teeth and sends them to a dental laboratory. Here, the porcelain leaf is specially designed and manufactured according to the patient’s tooth structure.

Temporary Veneer: A temporary veneer can be attached while the porcelain leaf is being manufactured. This temporary veneer protects the sensitive areas of the teeth and provides an aesthetic appearance.

Placement: When the porcelain leaf comes back from the dental laboratory, the dentist bonds these veneers to the patient’s teeth. The placement of the porcelain leaf is carried out with precision, taking into account aesthetic factors such as the color, shape and alignment of the teeth.

It provides an appearance similar to the natural tooth structure and is long-lasting.
