Sinus Lift

Sinus lift is the process of lifting or elevating the maxillary sinus area, which is the space in the posterior region of the upper jaw where implants cannot be placed due to insufficient jaw bone for implant treatment. This process aims to provide more bone volume so that implants can be placed with stable and sufficient bone support.

What are the Steps of the Sinus Lift Procedure?

The sinus lift procedure usually includes the following steps:

Evaluation:

The dentist evaluates the condition of the jaw bone and sinus area. Information about the bone volume and the location of the sinus is collected using imaging techniques such as X-ray and/or computerized tomography.

Anesthesia:

The sinus lift procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia. In this way, the patient is prevented from feeling pain or discomfort.

Healing Process:

After the sinus lift procedure, a period of time is waited for the new bone volume created with the bone graft to heal. This period usually varies between 4-9 months. Once the healing process is complete, the implants can be placed.

Sinus lift procedure provides sufficient bone volume for implant treatment. In this way, implants can be placed more stably and long-term success can be achieved. Sinus lift procedure should be performed by a specialist dentist and should be evaluated individually for each patient.
